At a shooting in the American city of El Paso (Texas), at least 20 people were killed and dozens injured on Saturday. A shooter opened fire in a mall. A total of three people were arrested.
Greg Abbott, the governor of Texas, stated in a press conference that twenty people had died. The police have not yet mentioned an official death toll because the investigation has not yet been completed.
The suspected perpetrator is a 21-year-old man who was arrested by agents shortly after the shooting. Most victims fell in or around a Walmart in the mall.
In addition to the dead, dozens of people were injured. Spokespersons for local hospitals said at least 22 people were being treated for injuries following the shooting.
The role of the other two arrested persons was not disclosed, but according to the police they did not shoot and the 21-year-old man was the only shooter. It is not yet clear what his motive was.

Immediate danger passed, area still cleared
The local police called on people to stay away from the mall, but stated that there was no more immediate danger. Several buildings and streets were also evacuated. The police also asked for blood donations.
The White House reports that US President Donald Trump has been informed of the shooting and the situation continues to follow. He also spoke with Texas governor Gregg Abbott and Justice Minister Bill Barr about the situation.
