It is specified that a 46-year-old local resident told law enforcement agencies on August 1.

“When she came to visit her deceased relatives in the cemetery, the woman discovered that the monument on their grave was damaged by unknown persons, dismantling his tombstone and putting it on the ground. The woman also saw that on four adjacent graves the same damage, and on the sixth grave - vandals tombstone smashed, "- stated in a statement.

It is noted that the police take measures to identify those involved in the crime and bring them to justice.

In fact the incident opened criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Art. 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“outrage at the grave, other burial place or body of the deceased”).

Earlier in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine, unknown persons smashed four monuments to participants in the armed conflict in Donbas. Monuments stood on a cemetery in the city of Novograd-Volynsky.
