Teams from Burundi, Ethiopia, Equatorial Guinea, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mali, Namibia, Tanzania, Togo and Zimbabwe have qualified for the final qualifying round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2020), this 4th of August 2019.

We now know the thirty teams that will play the end of the qualifiers for the African Nations Championship ( CHAN 2020 ). Ten caps have clinched their place for a final round that will be organized from 20 to 22 September (first leg) and then from 18 to 20 October 2019 (home matches).

Togo dismisses Benin

This last round will offer beautiful posters, in the West A and West B Zones among others, including Mali - Mauritania and Nigeria - Togo .

If the Malians did not suffer against Guinea-Bissau (4-0 in the first leg, then 3-0 in the return), the Togolese have more difficult to dismiss the Beninese 1-0 (0-0 in the first leg ).

Madagascar was hot

The task was even more complicated in the South Zone, for Madagascar. Led 3-0 in Mozambique, the "Barea" were virtually eliminated, despite their 1-0 win last week. The Malagasy, however, managed to come back to 2-3 and pass through these two goals scored outside.

In contrast, the Comoros were out Namibia (0-2 in the first leg and 0-0 in the return), while Mauritius did not make illusion against Zimbabwe with a new setback 1-3 (0-4 to go).

Still in the South Zone, we saw a thunderclap, with the elimination of South Africa, humiliated 3-0 at home by the Lesotho selection.

It goes for Burundi but not for Chad

In the Center-East and Central Zones, there were few surprises. Chad lost 2-1 to Equatorial Guinea and will not face Congo-Brazzaville in the next round.

Burundi, for its part, did not shiver against South Sudan (2-1). Unexpectedly, Ethiopia had more difficulty against Djibouti (4-3). Finally, Kenya was ejected by Tanzania on penalties.
