Most Democratic congressmen in the House of Representatives are ready to impeach Donald Trump, CNN reported.
"On their way to declaring impeachment of President Donald Trump, Democrats have reached a point whose importance is beyond doubt: 118 Democrats in the House of Representatives called for the beginning of the official impeachment procedure," the article notes.
According to the channel, among the parliamentarians supporting the impeachment are ultra-left democrats, several members of the Democratic Party who won a number of traditionally republican districts last fall, as well as supporters of the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi.
"The growing support for congressmen from the Democratic Party clearly demonstrates the progress made since last year, when only a few actively supported the impeachment," the CNN article stresses.
“Attempts to consolidate Democrats”
Representatives of the Democratic Party consider that the same report of the former Special Prosecutor Robert Muller, which, in their opinion, presents “very substantial evidence of serious crimes and offenses” of the White House, is the basis for launching the impeachment procedure. The material CNN states that, from the point of view of the Democrats, those "ten cases of obstruction of justice on the part of Trump, on which Muller presented evidence, provide sufficient grounds for impeachment."

It is worth noting that earlier Nancy Pelosi denied the possibility of impeachment. However, after it became known about the support of the initiative by the majority of Democrats, Pelosi said that "in America no one can be above the law," and the president "will be brought to justice."
According to experts, the speaker could change her position in favor of the political goals of the Democratic Party.
“She is trying to consolidate the Democrats, since the issue of impeachment causes a certain split in the party, which can negatively affect the fate of this political force,” said Vladimir Vasilyev, Chief Researcher at the Institute of the USA and Canada, RAS, in a conversation with RT.
This opinion is shared by Andrei Sidorov, head of the department of international organizations and world political processes at the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University.
“Nancy Pelosi acts as the leader of the majority, and this obliges her to maneuver,” the analyst said in a conversation with RT.
“History has already been played”
Recall also that initiate another investigation against Trump was proposed by Democratic Congressman Eliot Engel last week. According to him, the head of the White House "abused his authority" when he tried to impede the investigation of Robert Muller about the alleged "links" of his campaign headquarters with Moscow. In addition, Engel added that the testimony of the former Special Prosecutor allegedly contain relevant evidence.

Shortly before this, Jerry Nadler, head of the legal committee of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, said that the agency had sent a request to the judicial authorities demanding that the special prosecutor of Trump's possible “collusion” with the Russian authorities provide the full package of information about the investigation. It should be recalled that the search for a “Russian trace” in the American election campaign of 2016 turned out to be unsuccessful - the Muller Commission did not find any evidence of the “interference” of Moscow.
From the point of view of experts, the Democrats do not have legal grounds for their accusations.
“In order to make trump impeachment, it is necessary to convict him of high treason, a direct conspiracy, which Muller did not reveal during his investigation. Or the head of the White House should commit another crime of federal significance, ”said Andrei Sidorov.
According to him, another initiative of the Democrats to issue a vote of no confidence in the president is doomed to failure.
“Democrats cling to the“ Russian trace ”, whose history has already been played: the commission, on which they pinned great hopes, gave rise to fiction. Opponents of the president are unlikely to find good reasons to impeach, ”the analyst predicted.
"The Strip of Alienation"
Attempts to remove the 45th President of the United States from power are made regularly - the last time the Democrats intended to impeach Trump in July for his "racist" remarks. Then the American leader suggested that several parliamentarians of foreign origin go "back" to arrange life in "native" states.
However, the majority of congressmen then opposed this initiative.
“The United States House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly against the resolution on impeachment. This is perhaps the most ridiculous and time-consuming project I've ever had to work with, ”Donald Trump wrote on his Twitter page, commenting on the voting results.

Political scientists believe that the Democrats "with despair support hysteria" around the Trump figure, but this further worsens their position before the upcoming elections.
“During the debate, candidates from the Democratic Party together attacked Trump, demonstrating to their voter that this is the main thing that they can offer their country. However, this is not enough to win the presidential election, ”notes Andrei Sidorov.
In turn, Vladimir Vasilyev draws attention to the fact that the Democrats again began talking about impeachment after another failure.
“The main purpose of this campaign is to mobilize the electorate of the Democratic Party on the eve of the presidential election of 2020. From this angle, the question of the impeachment of Trump, who is again and again raised by the Democrats, becomes the political platform of the Democratic Party in the election race, ”explained Vasilyev in an interview with RT.
According to him, such an insistent desire to impeach Trump is also connected with the Democrats' uncertainty that they will be able to nominate a representative of the party for election who could compete with Trump in the framework of the upcoming campaign.
“The practice of the last two debates shows that former Vice President Joe Biden is losing support among Democrats. It is possible that he will not get enough votes as a result of primary elections within the party, ”the analyst believes.
In addition, Vladimir Vasilyev believes that with calls for impeachment, the Democrats want to "create an exclusion zone" around the head of the White House.
“These actions of the representatives of the Democratic Party are designed not only to draw the electorate’s attention to the attractiveness of the candidates of this political force, but also to play again on the antagonism of a large part of American society in relation to Trump,” said Vasilyev in an interview with RT.
He is confident that as the elections approach, the Democrats will look for new reasons for impeachment.
“Democrats will not stop at what has been accomplished and will try to incriminate other charges, for example, to unleash Trump's racism and xenophobia even more. Thus, parliamentarians intend to incite minorities against the head of the White House, ”says the analyst.
In his opinion, the Democrats will try to tie the “story of the unwinding of cases around tax returns” to Trump’s impeachment procedure.
“If it is somehow established that the President of the United States conducted fraudulent operations with tax returns, then a criminal case could be opened to him. This will put Trump in an extremely negative light in front of the Americans and create the political background that the democrats need, ”the expert concluded.
