"The President was informed about the shooting in El Paso, we continue to monitor the situation," the report says.
Earlier, the police reported that shooting occurred at the Walmart shopping center in the city of El Paso in the west of Texas.
According to media reports, as a result of the incident, at least 18 people were injured.
It was noted that three suspects in the shooting were detained.
