“Over the past day, the number of flooded farmsteads has increased to 1,235,” the report says on the agency’s website.

As a result of a rain flood in 41 settlements, 337 private residential houses remain flooded.

According to the latest data, 23 settlements are left without transport and 11 settlements - without electricity.

In total, 2,583 residents, including 908 children, were evacuated from the flood zone in the region.

Earlier, the Amur Region authorities estimated the preliminary damage from crop loss due to a flood of 1.5 billion rubles.

The former deputy chairman of the State Duma for environmental issues, a professor at the Department of System Ecology of the RUDN University, Doctor of Technical Sciences Vladimir Tetelmin, in an interview with Vzglyad, called for the construction of flood-control dams in conjunction with hydroelectric power plants.
