Spaniard Marc Marquez (Honda), five-time MotoGP World Champion and current leader of the championship, will start Sunday in pole position for the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, the Frenchman Johann Zarco (KTM) getting him to the front row.

Marquez dominated Q2 with a 2 sec and 524 / 1000e victory over Australian Jack Miller (Ducati) and 2 sec and 598 / 1,000th Johann Zarco, who was drafted in Q1 for the first time this season.

The Spanish motorcycle champion will start from the rush position for the sixth time since the start of the season, during which he has so far signed five wins in nine races.

For its part, the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha-SRT), who was the fastest after the 3 free practice sessions, only achieved the 10th time, 3 sec 895 / 1000th of Marquez.

The Q2 took place in difficult weather conditions, with a downpour that began to fall towards the end of the session on a track already wet and drying in places. The choice of tires has therefore been decisive, which has benefited Zarco, which has had a particularly difficult season so far.

Marquez leads the provisional championship standings with ten races left, 58 points ahead of Italy's Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati), who won last year in Brno, and fourth in Q2.

The start of the Moto3 race will take place on Sunday at 11:00 (09:00 GMT), followed by Moto 2 at 12:20 (10:20) and MotoGP at 14:00 (12:00 GMT).
