Italian Prime Minister offered Russia help in fighting fires in Siberia
Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte reported that he was concerned about reports of large forest fires in Siberia, and offered Russia assistance in extinguishing them.
“Following reports of the dramatic situation with fires sweeping Siberia, I offered Russia the cooperation of our civil defense department, putting at the disposal of two Canadair aircraft in the hope that the situation would soon return to normal,” the prime minister wrote on Twitter.
As reported by TASS with reference to the comment of the Italian government, the relevant proposal was transferred to the Russian side.
The struggle against large-scale forest fires continues in Siberia and Yakutia. Fire covered about 3 million hectares of forest.
On August 2, the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported that the daily increase in the area of forest fires in Siberia and the Far East has decreased fivefold.
