The organizers managed to gain the approval of the authorities to march in the streets of Mong Kok, a very commercial district with many shops and relatively narrow streets.

The course should be fast enough: 30 minutes at most. The organizers expect about 3,000 people despite the rain that falls tirelessly on the sports complex, the starting point of the procession.

Demands from protesters

Before the march, some speeches are planned, to detail in particular the requests of the demonstrators, as the total withdrawal of the law of extradition towards China and the establishment of an independent commission to investigate the police violence.

This rally follows the support of officials who rallied to the mobilization Friday, August 2, in the evening, gathering more than 40,000 people. The Hong Kong people want to prove to their government that they are united in adversity. And it is in this sense that the protesters take the street this afternoon.
