The far-right president has 15 days to explain the ambiguous remarks about a left-wing activist who died under the military dictatorship in 1973. An affair almost half a century old.

Clearly, Jair Bolsonaro took this story out to reach the current president of the Bar Association, Felipe Santa Cruz, who is the son of this political disappeared. According to the president, this militant of the Catholic left would not have been killed by the military regime, but by his own comrades of Popular Action. Jair Bolsonaro strongly supports this version, completely new, while the State has conducted an official investigation (through a Truth Commission), and has just issued a death certificate recognizing that this activist was killed by the dictatorship .

There are those who wonder: why does Bolsonaro want to reopen his old wounds? And there are those who are indignant: some jurists think that the president has committed a serious fault, and that it is liable to a dismissal procedure!

"Verborragy"

But this procedure is unlikely to succeed because it depends on the Congress. But what worries is that Bolsonaro seems to be suffering from a kind of "verborragy". He multiplies the statements to the cookie-cutter. In a matter of days, he attacked a journalist who was tortured and imprisoned during the dictatorship when she was pregnant; he threatened to jail an American journalist ...

And he also questioned the official figures of deforestation in the Amazon. He has just sent the president of the scientific agency responsible for this file. He suspected him of working on behalf of some kind of "enemies from within".

Abortive meeting with Le Drian

There was also a Franco-Brazilian diplomatic incident this week, again because of the environment. The Brazilian president canceled at the last minute an appointment with Jean-Yves Le Drian, the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, and instead of seeing the head of French diplomacy, went to get haircuts . In fact, Jair Bolsonaro was angry because Le Drian had met Brazilian ecologists to talk about sustainable development (including questions to the Amazon), which seemed to him to be a kind of lèse majesté crime.

An unpredictable Bolsonaro, uncontrollable even, according to some ... even the generals who surround him in power are sometimes surprised by this desire to stick to the fringe most radical of his electorate. Nobody now seems to be able to stop Jair Bolsonaro.
