Al-Houthi's leader said they decided to freeze attacks against the UAE following a change in his description of Abu Dhabi's political and military stance. For his part, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash said that their recent rapprochement with Iran was in coordination with Saudi Arabia in order to avoid confrontation.

"We agreed with Saudi Arabia on the strategy of the next phase in Yemen, and in the Iranian file, our common position is to avoid confrontation and to give priority to political action," Gargash said on Friday.

Gargash said in a tweet on Twitter that the UAE position is stable, and that coordination with Saudi Arabia at its best, accusing Qatar of what he described as fishing in turbid water by exaggerating a routine meeting, as he put it.

The UAE minister pointed out that the redeployment in Hodeidah is the result of an extensive dialogue in the Saudi-UAE alliance.

On Tuesday, Tehran and Abu Dhabi held a meeting in Iran, bringing together the commander of the Iranian border guards and commander of the UAE Coast Guard to discuss Gulf security, border affairs and combat smuggling.

"The message of the UAE from Iran is a positive message," said member of the political council of the group Mohammad Ali al-Houthi.
