Four teenagers suspected of killing animals at a teaching farm in Méry-sur-Seine, Aube, on the sidelines of an evening were indicted, three were placed under judicial control and the fourth in educational center closed, was learned Friday from judicial source.

Alcohol and drugs

Adolescents, aged 16 to 17, "acknowledged their involvement in the facts" when they were presented Thursday to the juvenile judge, who indicted them for acts of cruelty to animals, robbery and degradation in meetings and use of narcotics, according to the prosecution of Troyes. According to their story, they were under the influence of alcohol and drugs at the time of the facts, on the night of Sunday to Monday. Alerted by the employees of the educational farm of this village of 1,500 inhabitants, gendarmes Romilly-sur-Seine discovered Monday morning the remains of 13 poultry and a rabbit and four other wounded animals, including a sheep that had to be euthanasia.

Fingerprints from local beer cans and a neighborhood survey identified the four minors in custody on Tuesday and Wednesday. Their homes were raided. A prize pool has also been opened to help the teaching farm to recover from this event.
