According to the diplomat, Washington’s decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty will have a negative impact on global strategic security.

“This is a reflection of Washington’s targeted line of scrapping a number of key arms control agreements,” Ryabkov said.

Earlier, national security adviser to the US president John Bolton said that the United States will officially withdraw from the INF Treaty on Friday, August 2.

As the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova, noted, the day of Washington’s departure from the INF Treaty will go down in history with negative connotation.

At the beginning of 2019, Washington announced a unilateral withdrawal from the INF Treaty.
