The daily Nice-Matin has publicly denounced homophobic comments made by Internet users on its Facebook page after the publication Monday, as every week, photos of the wedding couple of the weekend in Nice.

In an article on its website and in its paper edition on Wednesday, Nice-Matin specifically named the authors of homophobic remarks against the two homosexual couples married this weekend, out of ten in total.

"They are really too beautiful and I really wish them all the happiness of all hearts, but very directly and without controversy, it becomes complicated for the reproduction to be meditated for a world that seeks itself", thus sign a certain "Jean-Marc Chappuis".

"Homos in pagail kelle crazy world, it's beautiful modernism 2019. Berk berk." Writes on his side "Nicolas Nico du Rouret".

"To the extent that they appear on Facebook, we have taken the responsibility to designate them. These comments are multiplying, are increasing, they are totally inadmissible and we have chosen to denounce them," said Denis Carreaux , director of the writings of Nice-Matin, to AFP.

Aurélien Moine, a 36-year-old steward, one of the target brides, told AFP that he was considering filing a complaint, thanking Nice-Matin for this initiative that "can make things happen". "I was not expecting that, (...) this wave of hateful, homophobic and violent speech." To be treated as "fagot +" in the street, it happens every day and it's not normal, on social networks, this is not normal either, "he said.

Erwann Le Ho, president of the LGBT Côte d'Azur center, who also welcomed the initiative of the newspaper, decided to accompany this couple in its approach: "Between the remarks which concern the stupid stupid and shocking and who deserve a public condemnation, and those who really fall under the law, we must see what we can base this approach.

Three months ago, Nice-Matin reinstated on its website the feature allowing users to comment on an article. "On our site, we monitor very closely this type of comments and there is no overflowing. (But) we have less resources to intervene on Facebook," lamented Mr. Carreaux.

In July, the newspaper broke its Internet attendance records, with 20 million hits. The bride and groom section of the weekend is one of those that works very well.
