A 57-year-old man was fatally stabbed Wednesday, July 31 in his business in Saint-Georges-de-Reintembault, Ille-et-Vilaine.

"A man died in the town of Saint-Georges-de-Reintembault, an investigation was opened by the parquet of Rennes," said the prosecutor, confirming information from France Blue. The mayor of this municipality of 1500 inhabitants, Marie-Claire Boucher, indicates that the victim is a craftsman-merchant who ran a motorcycle shop. "We are not used to things like that in our village," she said.

According to the Codis of Ille-et-Vilaine, the assault occurred around 19:30 Wednesday and the victim had a wound in the chest. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the man was declared dead around 22:15. For the moment, two people have been arrested.
