A new Ebola case was confirmed on Wednesday evening, July 31, in Goma, eastern DRC, bringing to three the number of people infected in the city by nearly two million people.

A third patient tested positive for Ebola on Wednesday in Goma, South Kivu province. According to the Agence France-Presse, this is the daughter of the goldsmith who died of the disease on Wednesday morning. The latter, who had arrived in the area on July 13, was placed under observation only on the 22nd before Ebola was diagnosed at home on July 30th.

This new case is taken care of at the level of the treatment centers.

The epidemic declared August 1, 2018 in North Kivu and marginally in Ituri, east of the DRC, has already made 1,803 deaths, according to the latest figures released Wednesday by the Congolese authorities.
