Al-Houthi group once again targeted the interim capital Aden (southern Yemen), where it adopted an attack on a military parade of UAE-backed forces at the al-Jalaa camp, killing and injuring dozens, and vowed to escalate further against its allies in southern Yemen.

A spokesman for the Huthis said the attack was carried out by a "K-2" and a medium-range ballistic missile.

He added that the forces participating in the military parade that was targeted were preparing for an attack on the sites of the Houthis in the provinces of Dalea and Taiz, which control parts of them.

The Interior Ministry said 36 people - including security and military leaders - were killed in the bombing. The most prominent of the dead was the commander of the first brigade in the security belt forces Munir Yafi'i, known as Abu al-Yamamah. Dozens were also wounded in the second such attack this year.

The targeting of the security belt forces at the Jalala camp in the Yemeni capital coincided with suicide bombings targeting the police of Sheikh Osman district in Aden, killing and wounding dozens of security personnel.

The escalation of the Houthis at a time of talking about understandings and contacts between them and the UAE, and the withdrawal of Abu Dhabi some of its troops from the West Coast on the Red Sea, which leads some to wonder about the timing and signs of this escalation.

Greater escalation
On the motives and timing of the operation, a member of the Higher Political Council of the Al-Houthi group told Al-Jazeera.net that the group has a list of goals that it carries out regularly, whether in the depth of what the countries of aggression (Saudi Arabia and the UAE) called, or by targeting what they described as their tools inside Yemen.

The leader of the Huthi - who declined to be identified - that the leaders of what is known as the Southern Transitional Council moved by the UAE, considering that they tamper with the lives and lives of Yemenis.

He also pointed out that the motives of the operation are that the forces that were attacked at the Jalal camp in Aden were planning to crawl the positions of the army forces and the popular committees (forces under the Houthis) in the provinces of Dalea and Taiz.

The Houthi leader vowed that this operation will not be the last, and will be followed by other operations with ballistic missiles and aircraft, saying that these weapons are more willing to conduct quality operations in the coming days.

The other Houthi leader Mohammed al-Bekhiti said that all the leaders of the security belt supported by the UAE have become targets for future attacks.

He added in a telephone conversation with the island that the party that declared aggression is responsible for the blood, as he put it.

Other dimensions
"The Huthis do not care about any agreements or understandings with them or with Iran, and if they have the opportunity to strengthen their strength and regain their control they will not hesitate to do so," said Abdulsalam Mohammed, head of the Abad Center for Studies.

"It seems clear that the Huthis have accurate intelligence in Aden, and as long as they have claimed responsibility for bombing the al-Jalaa camp, we must look for those who cooperated with them to make this attack a success."

He said the Huthis may have cooperated with another regime or state to collect information that would help them boost the "victories" of the UAE and enable Iran to exert greater pressure.

The Yemeni expert pointed to another scenario, which is that the Houthis may have obtained the information that enabled them to target the camp from parties engaged in internal qualifiers and compete for leadership of the armed movement in southern Yemen.
