Karasin noted that for the Russian side, the main thing in this situation was to release the tanker crew members.

He added that Russian sailors "have long been at home."

The deputy foreign minister also said that the tanker is privately owned, so "the court must decide everything."

“We, naturally, will closely watch, but this is less dramatic. And I hope that the court will decide. And we will be watching this. We must find out who it belongs to. And the private owner has the right to challenge the decision of the Ukrainian authorities in court, ”RIA Novosti quotes him.

Earlier, a Ukrainian court decided to arrest the Russian tanker Nika Spirit and the documents seized during a search on the vessel.

On July 25, the SBU officers detained the Russian tanker Nika Spirit in the port of Izmail. Later, the Russian Embassy reported that the crew members were released.
