“On the territory of the region, 99 forest fires operate on a total area of 1,042,434 hectares, including 80 in the control zone on an area of 1,037,654 hectares,” the RIA Novosti quotes a message from the Forest Fire Center in Krasnoyarsk.
According to updated data, the centers of fires operate in the following areas: Evenkiysky, Boguchansky, Taimyrsky, Yeniseysky, Kezhemsky, N.Ingashsky, Pirovsky, Abansky.
It is noted that 494 people and 13 pieces of equipment are working on extinguishing.
Earlier, the press service of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russia in the Siberian Federal District reported that the area of forest fires in Siberia exceeded 1.6 million hectares.
It was noted that the most difficult situation is observed in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Irkutsk Region.
A special fire regime, involving additional fire safety measures, was introduced in the territory of 47 regions of the country. Due to large-scale fires, about 500 settlements in more than 20 regions of Russia got into the smoke zone.
