"Has the right to dictate terms": why Loginov has not yet signed a contract with the RRF

The Russian national biathlon team continues to prepare for the new season. The best athletes of Russia have already passed most of the training camps and are ready for the first official start - the World Summer Biathlon Championship, which will be held in Raubichi (Belarus) from 21 to 25 August. Moreover, a month before the start, the leadership of the RRF has already decided on the team. The choice fell on Sergey Korastylyov, Pyotr Pashchenko, Seeds Suchilov and Vadim Filimonov.

The name of Loginov is absent in the list, while the strongest biathlete of the country became the first in the sprint by 10 kilometers in the summer biathlon at the Russian Championship, which was held in Tyumen. Three-time World Championships medalist showed a result of 24 minutes, 11.7 seconds with one miss. After that, Loginov left the location of the team and his further fate, as well as the state of relations with the SBR, are still unknown.

The thing is that the 27-year-old Saratovets was the only one who did not sign the agreement with the Russian Biathlon Union. The new rule, according to which all active athletes are obliged to enter into contracts with their federation, if they want to compete under its auspices, have been introduced since the 2019/20 season.

Stumbling block

The conclusion of such agreements with athletes practiced in many countries. The document is necessary for the legal and administrative protection of the rights of both biathlete and officials. In addition, the contract strictly specifies the procedure for paying bonus bonuses, lists sponsorship obligations, and also contains items on labor discipline, daily routine and training regime.

However, the demands put forward by the federation did not suit everyone. Dmitry Garanichev refused to sign his first signature. In early June, the head of the national team, Dmitry Rochev, said that the bronze medalist of the Olympics did not accept the conditions offered by the SBR.

However, later the contract between Garanichev and the SBR was signed. After a personal meeting with the president of the union Vladimir Drachev, one of the leaders of the national team signed an agreement, but Loginov has not yet made a final decision. At the same time, according to the president of the SBR, the multiple European champion is inclined to a positive decision.

“Work is underway. The discussion continues. There are moments that he would like to register as disagreements. I asked him to specify exactly what he agrees with, with which he disagrees that I am ready to accept and which points I would like to change. Loginov’s main concerns are with sponsors. Reports the edition about it "Nevasport" with reference to own sources in SBR. The biathlete does not want his name used for promotional purposes. In addition, he expresses a wish to put the personal sponsor's logo on the rifle, while under the contract it can be done only on the ski cap.

“Why rested in this contract? There is still no money there! ”

According to the latest data, in the SBR, this behavior of the athlete is unhappy. This became clear from the statements of the new chairman of the coaching council, Olympic champion Yevgeny Redkin. In his opinion, Loginov should reconsider his priorities and hurry with the settlement of formalities, because otherwise the best biathlete of the country simply will not be allowed to domestic and international competitions.

“I understand, there are personal ambitions and commercial affairs. But then you have to decide: either you are in commerce or in sports. Yes, no doubt, he is well done, but do not think that he is so alone. We have 25 people who in a year or another can become just as strong. Therefore, it is better not to show off. Still, not an Olympic champion, ”Redkina Sport-Express cites.

After such harsh statements from the representative of the Security Service of Russia, former head of the Russian biathlon Alexander Tikhonov stood up for Loginov. In a conversation with RT, the four-time Olympic champion called the actions of his followers absurd and urged them to take into account all the interests of the first number of the national team.

“Redkin threatens not to let Loginov to the competition?” And who we will then act? Or will he run with a big belly? I'm on the side of Alexander. In his place, too, would not have to sign anything. First, the legal literacy of the current leadership of the RRF raises questions. And secondly, he is currently our best athlete and has the right to dictate his conditions. Why rested in this contract? There is still no money there, ”Tikhonov said.

At the same time, the ex-official is sure that the conflict situation will soon be resolved.

“There is no special choice here. We need to sit down and negotiate. Loginov is all that they have now, ”the expert emphasized.

It is worth noting that a similar story has already taken place in the European biathlon. So, last season the sisters of Fialkov were in conflict with their federation.

Paulina and Yvona refused to sign the contract and were barred from participating in competitions for the Slovak national team. Even the local government had to intervene in the story, after which 11-hour negotiations took place between the parties, as a result of which there were compromises and agreements were concluded.
