Donald Trump on Friday denounced the "stupidity" of French President Emmanuel Macron, threatening to tax French wine in retaliation for the imposition of a French tax on the giants of the American high tech sector, called tax Gafa.
"France has just imposed a digital tax on our big US technology companies.If someone had to tax them, it should be their home country, the United States," tweeted the US president. "We will soon announce a substantial interaction after Macron's stupidity, and I have always said that American wine is better than French wine!" He added.
France just put a digital tax on our great American technology companies. If anybody taxes them, it should be their home Country, the USA. We will announce a substantial reciprocal action on Macron's foolishness shortly. I've always said American wine is better than French wine!
