The government is trying to provide 50,000 tons of rice to North Korea through international organizations, and North Korea has expressed its intention to refuse it in the process of consultation. That's why I heard the US-ROK military training.

The government has faced difficulties in providing rice to North Korea, which was promoted through the World Food Program (WFP).

"The WFP has expressed a negative view on North Korea's receipt of rice from South Korea during the WFP negotiations on Pyongyang's office with Pyongyang officials," said the unification ministry official.

North Korea is said to have expressed a negative stance on the receipt of rice because of the US-ROK joint training.

"The government is confirming North Korea's official position through the WFP," the ministry said.

The government has decided to support 50,000 tons of domestic rice from WFP for humanitarian purposes to overcome the food shortage in North Korea.

"We hope that the rice aid will be carried out as planned," the unification ministry official said. "We need to see more about what the North's final position is."

There have been no cases in which North Korea refused to support the Korean government through international organizations.

If North Korea refuses to endorse its rice aid, it seems inevitable that the government's plan to open a breakthrough in inter-Korean relations through humanitarian assistance is inevitable.
