Huawei, a communications equipment company in China, has reportedly secretly helped develop North Korea's wireless network. It will be noted how the future trade negotiations between the United States and China will affect the negotiations between North Korea and the US.

It is the official correspondent in Washington.

The Washington Post reported that Huawei secretly helped develop North Korea's wireless network by citing Huawei's internal documents.

Huawei, together with China's state-owned company Panda International Information Technology, has been involved in various related projects such as wireless network construction and equipment maintenance in North Korea for eight years from 2008.

Huawei's internal document, published by the Washington Post, includes work orders and contracts written for the North Korean wireless network business.

The agreement showed that Panda information technology brought Huawei's communications equipment to North Korea by rail.

Huawei also noted North Korea as "A9" in its internal data, considering that North Korea is a country subject to international sanctions.

The Washington Post pointed out that Huawei, which uses US-made parts, violated sanctions by providing communications equipment to North Korea.

If it turns out that it violated North Korea sanctions, the United States could impose additional regulations or criminal penalties on Huawei.

[Trump / President: (How do you see the report that Huawei is related to North Korea?) Huawei will look at what it does with wireless networks.]

Huawei said, "We are committed to complying with all laws and regulations."
