Nine-seeded Frenchwoman Pauline Parmentier and compatriot Amandine Hesse were eliminated in the first round of the WTA Palermo tournament on Monday.

Pauline Parmentier, the 80th player in the world, was beaten by the 21-year-old Paula Badosa of Spain 6-4, 7-6 (7/4), 116th, having been dominated in the play compartments during a game that was lasted 1 h 52 minutes.

Exceeded the service, with only 49% (against 56 to his opponent) in first ball, she also committed six double faults (3 more than Badosa, 95th). The Frenchwoman was especially less successful in converting the same services into points (63 versus 73%).
