Mali: car bomb attack at the entrance of the French Gao base - RFI

A car bomb exploded Monday, July 22 at the entrance to the French base in Gao, causing three injuries.

The attack occurred at 3:45 pm (local time) at the entrance to the French side of the Gao camp, shared between the French anti-jihadist force Barkhane, the United Nations peacekeeping force (Minusma) and the Forces. Malian armies (Fama).

The record shows three wounded French and Estonians, told AFP the French General Staff of Armed Forces, Colonel Frederic Barbry, without giving a figure by nationality. Their vital prognosis is not engaged.

" There was no intrusion into the camp, " he also assured.

Last year at the same time, French soldiers from Barkhane had already been targeted in Gao by a car bomb attack. Four civilians had perished.
