The heat is back in France since Monday, July 22, but one in four French does not dare to be comfortable at work, according to a study of 450,000 people interviewed between 20 and June 24, 2019 and published by MisterTemp multi-channel interim solution.

Another teaching of the study: women dare more than men. The majority of women (83%) allow themselves to come in skirts, dresses or shorts to work, while only 10% of men dare to take out shorts.

Shoes versus sandals

The same goes for shoes: 22% of French women come in open shoes (sandals, flip-flops) while only 4% of men pull out their toes. For highs, they wear mostly (91%) t-shirts and longshoremen against 63% of men.

What does the law say about hot weather at work? More than 40% of French people do not know it. In fact, the Labor Code provides nothing, except that the employer must take all "necessary measures to ensure the safety and protect the physical and mental health of workers". There is always the possibility of asserting his right of withdrawal if the heat at his place of work may endanger the life of the employee.

French law could evolve in the years to come because heat waves are more frequent in France since the 1980s and are expected to multiply and intensify under the effect of global warming.
