Thibaut Pinot won Saturday, July 20, winning the 14th stage of the Tour de France, at the top of the Tourmalet, large Pyrenean col. Julian Alaphilippe, 2nd of the day, keeps his yellow jersey.

"Since the start of the Tour, I was thinking about this stage," said Pinot, winner for the third time in the Tour since its debut in 2012. The last 250 meters were decisive for the French. "It's one of my greatest victories, winning in such monuments is what I like."

Under the eyes of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, Alaphilippe held the shock. He took second place, 6 seconds ahead of the Dutchman Steven Kruijswijk, the best surrounded in the final part.

The distance to the stage has been shortened by some 6.5 kilometers. The departure was postponed at the exit of Tarbes, because of a demonstration of opponents to an industrial hog barn.

Its cumulative elevation reached 4,345 meters, the third on the 21 stages of the event.
