Elections to the upper house of parliament began in Japan

Polling stations across the country opened at 07:00 local time (01:00 Moscow time) and will close at 20:00 (14:00 Moscow time).

It is noted that members of the upper chamber are elected for six years, every three years half of its members are re-elected.

As specified, the counting of votes will begin after the closure of all polling stations.
