Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck) won the 13th stage of the Tour de France, a 27.2-kilometer individual time trial held Friday in Pau, and thus strengthened his yellow jersey.
Alaphilippe beat Britain's Geraint Thomas (Ineos) and Belgium's Thomas de Gendt (Lotto), after a stage marked by the fall and the abandonment of one of the favorites of the day, the Belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo ).
