The World Health Organization has declared the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as an international health crisis on Wednesday evening.



The World Health Organization has declared the current Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) as an international health crisis on Wednesday evening.

The current Ebola outbreak has been prevailing in the DRC since August last year. It is the deadliest outbreak ever for the African country, with more than sixteen hundred dead.

The WHO declared an international public health crisis four times: the swine flu pandemic in 2009, the spread of polio in 2014, the largest Ebola outbreak ever in western Africa in 2014 and the zika virus in 2016.
