The summer school of the PS will return after three years of absence from 23 to 25 August in La Rochelle, in a renewed format and with a desire to "open" vis-à-vis other left-wing formations, said the first secretary Olivier Faure Wednesday.

Sign of this will break, the event was renamed "Campus". "Until now La Rochelle was very much the In, even more the Off, (...) and it was an exchange that over time had turned into a contest of eloquence at best, and in a ball of Egos at worst, "said Faure during a press conference at the party headquarters in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne).

Debates of a new kind will be organized, as well as a "trial of the Fifth Republic", with a "prosecutor", "lawyers" and "witnesses".

The exchanges will also colonize the forecourt of Espace Encan, transformed into a "form of agora", so as to open the debates to others than the socialists.

The university, under the sign of "openness to others", will be organized in partnership with the allies of the PS to the Europeans -Public square, New Donne, the PRG- but also the MDC, the Communist Party and the UDE assured the member for Seine-et-Marne.

The leadership of the PS must also meet next week a delegation of Generations, the party founded by Benoît Hamon, to discuss its participation.

Senator EELV Ronan Dantec will be present, as will LFI Younous Omarjee MEP, Faure said.

Central theme of these three days of exchanges: "For an ecological and social future". "We will start in La Rochelle a process that will last until the municipal, during which we will have to define more precisely what is the social-ecology", detailed Mr. Faure.

Three "forums" will be organized before the municipal elections of March 15 and 22 to decline this theme.

The reflection will also be launched on a "charter", which will link PS candidates and those he supports. This charter will be submitted to the approval of the activists of the PS and its partners, so as to "be adopted in October".

After painful European elections (6.2% of the vote), Mr. Faure thinks that the PS will become "certainly the main force at the time of the municipal left", thanks to his leavers and its activist network. But he promises to beware of any hegemonic temptation.

Former Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, some of whom hope and predict the "return" on the front of the stage, will he be present in La Rochelle? Maybe, but he will not in any case be part of the speakers, "by mutual agreement" with him, answered Mr. Faure.

"We can not say that we are not ourselves in a desire for hegemony, if we are again, already, in the early hours of the municipal campaign, trying to reimpose the idea of this or that candidate in the presidential election, "he argued.

He scratched the passage EELV MP Yannick Jadot, who does not hesitate to show the ambitions of EELV for the presidential election, after his third place in Europe: "Seeing the One of the Obs on the + green giant + I thought + we are bigger and smaller + It made 13.5% in a European election, "he quipped.

Before choosing a champion for 2022, the challenge is first for the left and the environmentalists to "build something together," he said.
