The Ministry of Health and Community Protection warned of the risk of the Crimean Dengue virus, which is active due to indiscriminate slaughtering of animals, in houses or by trampers, outside municipal approved cemeteries, which are becoming more frequent as Eid al-Adha approaches.

The Crimea (Congo haemorrhagic) disease is classified as a priority health concern and is reported within 24 hours, in order for rapid intervention of the epidemiological surveillance procedures by the relevant authorities.

Assistant Undersecretary for Health Centers and Clinics Dr. Hussein Abdulrahman Al-Rand pointed out that the Ministry, in its efforts to provide comprehensive and innovative health care for the community, in cooperation with the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, the Health Authorities and the Abu Dhabi Food Control and Municipalities Authority Community members by promoting healthy health behaviors when dealing with cattle and animals in a manner that prevents the transmission of common human and animal pathogens, such as Crimean haemorrhagic fever, by providing slaughter sites throughout the country.

He pointed out that the efficiency of the epidemiological surveillance system for acute haemorrhagic fever in the Ministry and the health authorities in the country, in addition to the accuracy of laboratory diagnosis, and cooperation between different stakeholders, have been crucial factors in monitoring most cases infected with the disease in recent years.

"Crimean fever is transmitted to humans, either by tick bite, or by direct contact with the blood or tissues of infected animals during or immediately after slaughter," said Dr. Fatima al-Attar, director of the International Health Regulations and Pandemic Control Office. The virus is transmitted from person to person, as a result of direct contact with the person's blood, secretions, organs or other body fluids.

She stressed the need to go to health facilities, and to inform them of the previous exposure and associated symptoms, in the event of symptoms of the disease within two weeks of exposure to the causes of the disease.

And warned against violation of the health and safety requirements adopted by the responsible authorities, in relation to the phenomenon of indiscriminate slaughter outside the abattoirs approved, and the phenomenon of trampers in the absence of veterinary supervision, and the carcasses of rapid corruption due to high temperatures and exposure to external pollutants, as well as the proliferation of flies, As a result of the unsafe disposal of the remains of slaughter.

She noted that the symptoms of the infection are fever, muscle pain, dizziness, neck pain and stiffness, back pain, headaches, eye inflammation and light sensitivity. Symptoms that may appear at the beginning of the disease are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and sore throat.
