"The Qatari authorities have launched an urgent investigation in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the friendly Republic of Italy and another friendly country that presented a Marta missile 25 years ago and the state has requested that it not be named at this time," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lulwa Al Khater said in a statement.

"The Marta Super 530 was sold by the State of Qatar in 1994 in a deal that included 40 Marta Super 530 missiles to a friendly country that would prefer not to be named at this stage of the investigation," the statement said.
