Morozov also mentioned that in Washington they could “take offense at Ankara, put pressure on it, but cannot influence a sovereign decision”.

Esper said earlier that Turkey’s purchase of Russian S-400 missiles undermines the potential of F-35 fighter-bombers, in the development of which Ankara is taking part.
He also added that if he was approved for the post of Minister of Defense, he would tell the head of the Turkish Ministry of Defense that the country could have either C-400 or F-35.
