“I think that we need to contact the General Prosecutor’s Office not only indicating the fact of bee death, namely the use of counterfeit products and counterfeit chemicals, violations of technology when using chemicals,” Nikolai Nikolayev, head of the State Duma Committee, quotes RIA Novosti.
He said that the relevant appeals will also be sent to the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment.
Nikolayev reminded that since the beginning of summer, in many regions cases of mass death of bees had been recorded, one of the possible reasons was the violation by farmers of the rules for the safe use of pesticides.
As the parliamentarian said, beekeepers say that processing with pesticides is carried out without a normally functioning registration and warning system on the part of farmers.
“We do not know which agrochemicals are used,” said the parliamentarian.
Earlier, the press secretary of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Yulia Melano, said that the mass death of bees in a number of Russian regions is associated with the uncontrolled use of pesticides in field treatments.
