Clarence Seedorf is no longer the coach of Cameroon. The Cameroon Football Federation has decided to put an end to the duties of the Dutch, after the early elimination of the indomitable Lions of the CAN 2019. His deputy Patrick Kluivert also leaves.

After Sebastien Desabre , who left his coaching position in Uganda in agreement with the National Federation, and after Paul Put , returned with his staff in a stormy climate of his position as coach of Guinea, other heads fall after the successive eliminations of the 2019 African Cup of Nations . This Tuesday, July 16th, Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert saw their adventure with Cameroon stop.

A fatal elimination and a poor balance sheet

The future of the two former Dutch internationals was very uncertain after the sluggish and disappointing campaign of the Indomitable Lions in Egypt. In the first round, the champions of Africa 2017 took only the 2nd place of the group F with a victory and two draws. Then, they were out in the knockout stages by Nigeria (3-2). For a title holder, it's messy.

Seidou Mbombo Njoya, president of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), has decided to whistle the end of the lease for Clarence Seedorf and Patrick Kluivert, eleven and a half months after taking office. The FECAFOOT assures, in its communiqué, to have approached the subject with the members of the Executive Committee as well as with Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, the Minister of Sports and Physical Education ... which had publicly expressed against a future with Seedorf with CRTV. " It does not seem to me that this question (that of retaining the coach, editor's note) can reasonably, objectively (...) find a response in terms of renewal. It seems problematic to me to maintain it , "he said.

His opinion is clearly shared within the FECAFOOT. The " untimely exit " of the Indomitable Lions of the 32nd AD brings the end of the reign of Clarence Clyde Seedorf and his deputy Patrick Stephan Kluivert. Appointed on August 4, 2018 to succeed Hugo Broos, the former midfielder of Real Madrid and AC Milan in particular goes with a lackluster record: 10 games, 3 wins, 4 draws and 3 defeats.
