Villeurbanne, the French basketball champion, announced Tuesday the departure of the US-Serb referee DeMarcus Nelson, whose contract was coming to an end.
"A big thank you to DeMarcus Nelson for his 3 seasons at the club (...) Good luck to you DeMarc '", tweeted Tony Parker's Asvel.
Recruited by the Rhone club in October 2016, DeMarcus Nelson (33, 1.93 m) has taken a leading part in the Coupe-Championship double this season. The player was elected MVP of the final of the playoffs won 3 rounds against Monaco.
The former university star of Duke had previously evolved in France, Cholet (2010-2012) and Monaco (2015). The club does not specify what will be its next destination.
