Constable William Kimbro rescued a 12-day-old baby who could not breathe after drinking from the bottle.

A police officer became a local hero after saving the life of a newborn who was in a vehicle he had just checked for speeding.

On June 11, when Constable William Kimbro patrolled Summerville, Berkeley County, South Carolina, he spotted a speeding vehicle and ordered him to stop. During the check, one of the passengers told him while on board, a baby stopped breathing after drinking the bottle.

In the video unveiled by Berkeley police and spotted by The State, we see the police officer take things in hand. After asking the mother for the name of the infant, William Kimbro began resuscitation, exerting gentle pressure on his chest. "Cry for me," he asks the child, leaving a few small moans after a few minutes. "As long as she's crying, she's breathing," he says to the mother, while continuing her attempt at resuscitation. "I'm worried about her," he repeats several times, until the baby starts to breathe again, and is taken care of by the relief workers.

"Thanks to the persevering, heroic and professional attitude of Agent Kimbro, the 12-day-old baby was able to survive," the police said on Facebook, while the officer was awarded a medal by the police. Berkeley sheriff's office.
