Three killer whales from the "whale prison" sent to the place of release
The head of the Sakhalin Environmental Watch, Dmitry Lisitsyn, said that three orcas from the whale prison in Primorye were sent on board the Amur River to the Nikolaevsky District of the Khabarovsk Territory for release.
“VNIRO and trapping companies loaded containers with animals onto the river vessel TransAmur-3 in the Khabarovsk port. From the moment of loading on trucks to unloading on a ship, the whole process was carried out under our supervision, including all the way from Srednaya Bay to Khabarovsk, ”RIA Novosti quotes Lisitsyna.
He said that “in general, the Ekovakhty Sakhalin volunteers can now ensure that all three killer whales are alive and indeed sent from Khabarovsk along the Amur to the Nikolayevsky district to the place of release in the Sea of Okhotsk.”
On June 27, the first group of killer whales and beluga whales, kept in the "whale prison", was released into the sea.
