In Bangui, the general secretary of François Bozizé's party, Kwa Na Kwa (KNK), announces the return of the former president to Bangui in the coming weeks. An announcement made while there are only six months left to the former head of state to return to the country if he wishes to be a presidential candidate whose first round is scheduled for December 27, 2020.

" François Bozizé will return in a sure and sure way in the weeks to come ", ensures the acting general secretary of the KNK, Christian Guenebem. " The KNK candidate for the next presidential election is François Bozizé, " he continues.

But the return of the former president looks hard. Having been deprived of his Central African passport and sanctioned by the United Nations, François Bozizé is currently not really able to return to Central African territory. Christian Guenebem assures that the party today uses all legal and political remedies to allow its return.

A close of the peace agreement signed on February 6th provides for a special status for former presidents. The agreement seeks the vote of a law on this subject, but nothing for the moment has filtered on the possible clauses of this statute.

For the spokesman of the government, Minister Ange-Maxime Kazagui, this is an announcement effect. This is an issue that has not been mentioned in the last ministers' councils or cabinets, he says.
