“We know that the military-industrial complex occupies a huge role in American politics (both in domestic and foreign). And a significant number of senators, congressmen, and Trump himself have certain public or tacit agreements to support him. Some of this tacit agreement goes to increase funding for the American army itself, and a significant part goes for export and for support or advice to American allies to buy primarily American weapons, and then use some other options, ”said Byshok.

According to the analyst, in this situation there is a certain duality.

On the one hand, there is the paradigm of free trade, on the other - the national legislation of the United States, which involves a broad interpretation of the actions of other countries, explained Byshok.

“In this case, the purchase of Turkey from Russia C-400 can be interpreted in principle as an unfriendly step towards the United States, although it seems that this purchase is not related to the United States. So, I think that, quite possibly, some sanctions will indeed follow, ”the expert added.

At the same time, in his opinion, the United States understands that if they do not seriously respond to Turkey’s decision, this may cause the desire of other American allies to follow its example.

“This is extremely uncomfortable for the military industrial complex, which is overgrown, large, and the more it grows, the more appetites he has,” Byshok concluded.

Earlier, US senators called on Trump to impose sanctions because of the start of supplies of C-400 to Turkey.
