The thunderstorms that cross the Netherlands on Friday have caused flooding in various places. Code yellow currently applies to a large part of the country. The KNMI warning does not apply to Noord-Holland, Zuid-Holland and Zeeland.
There are strong thunderstorms with locally possible hail and a lot of precipitation in a short time, according to the weather institute. This involves 30 to 40 millimeters per hour. Locally this can go up to 50 millimeters.
According to Weerplaza, 40 to 50 millimeters of rain has already fallen in less than half an hour in the Utrecht neighborhood of Overvecht and in the municipality of Epe in Gelderland.
Code yellow is valid until 6 p.m. The showers, which head east, leave the country at the beginning of the evening. In the IJsselmeer region there is a chance of waterhousing until that time.
Greetings from Hilversum. #thunderstorm #water nuisanceAvatar
