The State Duma appreciated the decision of the CEC of Ukraine on the Russian observers

Leonid Kalashnikov, head of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Compatriots Affairs, commented on the refusal of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine to register 17 Russian observers in an interview with RT.

“If this is really such a democratic country, then from 17 observers nothing terrible should happen. It is not clear why you need to be afraid of Russia and hang some labels. In this situation, Ukrainians impoverish themselves and show their true face, ”said Kalashnikov.

Earlier, the CEC of Ukraine refused to register 17 official observers from the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

This decision was made because these individuals are citizens of Russia who, in accordance with Ukrainian law, "cannot be official observers."
