“The inspection carried out by the Rosleskhoz with the assistance of the FSB of Russia of the implementation of forest legislation in the Novgorod region again revealed numerous violations. The estimated damage to the state is more than 1.3 billion rubles, ”the statement says.

The ministry also told about the seizure of documents in the regional branch of Rosleskhoz. It is assumed that they can serve as a basis for initiating corruption cases.

“The planned field inspection of the activities of the regional forestry ministry was carried out in terms of the execution of the transferred powers of the Russian Federation in the field of forest relations and the expenditure of funds provided in the form of subventions from the federal budget to fulfill these powers,” the report adds.

According to the ministry, according to the results of the inspection, violations of forest legislation on deforestation “both in specially protected natural territories and located in water protection zones, in especially protective forest areas” were revealed.

In February, Gazeta.Ru, citing the Rosleskhoz, reported that in 2018, the damage from the activities of “black lumberjacks” in Russia rose to 11.6 billion rubles. In 2017, this figure was 11.5 billion.
