The number of Hajj permits granted to citizens of the state reached 6228 this year, according to the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments. While citizens wishing to perform the pilgrimage began to visit the health centers accredited in the various emirates to obtain the necessary vaccinations before heading to the Holy Land to ensure their safety and prevent them from potential infectious diseases.

The immunization program for pilgrims includes three vaccines, the meningococcal vaccine, seasonal influenza and pneumococcal (Nemococcal), which is given to people 65 years of age and older who are most vulnerable.
