Atlético Madrid and Blues striker Antoine Griezmann is close to a transfer to FC Barcelona, according to the Spanish press and L'Equipe Thursday night.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barça will pay Atletico Madrid the release clause of 120 million euros from Antoine Griezmann and make him sign a five-year contract until 2024.
The team even says that the Catalan club has "already made the bank payment" and that the account of Atletico will be credited Friday, once settled the administrative formalities.
The 28-year-old French world champion did not show up for Sunday's Atletico training to accelerate his transfer. Tensions have occurred in recent days between the Madrid club and Barça around his case.
The expected recruitment of Griezmann should be a first big blow for the Catalan club, engaged in a deep redesign of its workforce after a mixed season, completed on a title of champion of Spain but on a humiliation in the Champions League.
Arrived at Atlético in 2014 from Real Sociedad, Antoine Griezmann is under contract with the Madrid club until 2023.
If his transfer is confirmed, he will intervene in full serial on a possible return of Neymar to FC Barcelona.
