On July 12, a teleconference was planned between the studios of the channels "Russia 1" in Moscow and NEWSONE in Kiev. Later, the Ukrainian TV channel decided to cancel it because of threats of physical violence.
Commenting on the planned telebridge, Zelensky declared that “people with pro-Russian views” should not monopolize television space.
At the same time, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Yuriy Lutsenko, announced the initiation of a criminal case about the attempted state treason in connection with plans to hold a teleconference. The channel urged the authorities to stop putting pressure on employees because of this initiative.
