The quarter-finals of CAN 2019 were played on 10 and 11 July. The four posters kept their promises, and now, eyes are on the semi-finals scheduled for July 14. Senegal, Nigeria, Algeria and Tunisia know what awaits them.
This is the famous last square! CAN 2019 has four semi-finalists. The quarter-finals of this 24-team African Cup were played on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 July in Egypt, host country. Three of those games were played in 90 minutes, so one went to the penalty shootout. Benin, South Africa, Côte d'Ivoire and Madagascar have ended their journey.
First semi-finalist to have qualified: Senegal , winner July 10 of Benin squirrels on the smallest score (1-0) thanks to Idrissa Gueye. The last Téranga Lions qualification for the semifinals was in 2006.
Aliou Cissé and his men will face Tunisia . The Carthage Eagles, champions of Africa in 2004, ended the great adventure of the Malagasy novices (3-0) on July 11th.
In the other semifinal, we will find a regular: Nigeria . The Super Eagles did not fall into the same trap as the Egyptians.
