Some 88.1% of 2019 baccalaureate candidates graduated, a rate slightly lower than 2018 (88.3%), according to results released Thursday by the Ministry of Education.

For this particularly hectic edition, marked by surveillance strikes, correctors, and by leaks, 665,900 candidates were received at the end of the catch-up session.

The pass rate for general baccalaureate candidates is 91.2% (+0.1 points compared to 2018), that of the technological baccalaureate is 88.1% (-0.8 points) and the professional baccalaureate of 82 , 3% (-0.3 points).

The rate of admission increases in the ES series (90.7%, + 0.4 points compared to 2018) and L (91.6%, +0.9 points). It is slightly down in the S series (91.4%, -0.4 points).

Among the candidates of the technological bac, the STMG series, by far the largest series, 85.3% of the candidates are admitted (-0.8 points).

Overall, 47% of candidates get a mention. This proportion reaches 52.6% in the general way where 28.5% of the candidates obtain a mention "Good" or "Very good". They are 40.4% in the technological way and 41.7% in the professional way to obtain a mention.

In the face of the unprecedented strike of certain correctors opposed to the reform of the baccalaureate and who retained copies, the Minister of Education had decided that in case of missing notes, those of the continuous control would be taken into account.
