Dozens of demonstrations were held this Saturday, July 6 in Germany for the rescue of migrants at sea and for their reception in Europe. In Berlin, several thousand people attended the rally a few days after the arrest of the Sea-Watch boat captain Carola Rackete. The German, since release, benefited from a vast campaign of solidarity in her country.

" We are tired of your blah on solidarity. Finally translate your words into action and welcome all those saved in the Mediterranean. "

The protesters do not want to be content with repeated negotiations for the taking over by a few European states of refugees rescued by NGOs in the Mediterranean. The German government is also taking for its rank even if Berlin has welcomed 228 people since the beginning of the year is more than its neighbors.

The Seebrücke organization or "maritime bridge" was created a year ago following the odyssey of the ship Lifeline, which was searching in vain for a port to land 234 migrants rescued at sea. This Saturday, 90 demonstrations took place as in Berlin in all Germany to denounce the criminalization of rescue at sea.

" She really proved that she was there to respect human rights and end the suffering of those people on the boat. For us, it's a heroine, "says Juliane Wabnitz of the Seebrücke association on Carola Rackete.

Three-quarters of Germans support the rescue of migrants at sea by NGOs. Carola Rackete became in a few days a new Joan of Arc.
